THE MEET
Dordt notches a 9th place the final round of the 2017-18 GPAC Women's Golf Qualifier played in Columbus, Nebraska at Quail Run Golf Course. Defender women tallied an even 1,500 (+348) over the course of the four day GPAC Women's Golf Championship while being led by sophomore Alyssa Fedders of Sioux Center, Iowa who carded a final day of 87 to place her in 19th with a four round total of 352 (+64).
Morningside College of Sioux City, Iowa claimed their first GPAC Championship in women's golf by tallying a final round of 321. The Mustangs were led by the overall individual champion in Samantha Knight who finished the final day with a field low 73. Knight's four round totals of 80, 77, 78, 73 (308) gave her a ten stroke advantage over the second place finisher and fellow Mustang in Maria Zorrilla.
Briar Cliff sat second on the team leader board and placed two golfers in the top five. Morningside and Briar Cliff dominated the top individual performances by being the only two schools to represent the top individual performances. Looking ahead to the NAIA tournament, Morningside, as the GPAC Champion qualifies for the 24th NAIA Women's National Golf Championship which will be played May 22-25 at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
