Defender women carded a 369 on the first day of the women's GPAC Spring Qualifier tournament at Quail Run Golf Course in Columbus, Nebraska. Jumping up the leader board from 10th to 9th the lady Defenders passed Concordia College to take a three stroke advantage. Sophomore, Alyssa Fedders of Sioux Center, Iowa, led Dordt golfers with a 85 to give her a three day total of 265 and sits currently tied for 17th. Autumn Vos finished the day with a 96 to place her in 34th going into the final day.
All teams were led by Morningside College who were six strokes behind the fall leader, Briar Cliff, going into the day. The Mustangs came out of the day with a nine stroke lead with a total of 970. Northwestern and Mount Marty follow in third and fourth respectively.
Samantha Knight of Morningside College topped golfers on the day being the only golfer to be under 80 by shooting a 78. She currently sits in the lead with a two stroke advantage on Arianna Presilla of Briar Cliff and Knight's own teammate, Baria Zorilla who sit tied for 2nd with 237's.
