The Dordt women finished the first day of the GPAC Women's Golf Championships with a single day score of 383. The host site of The Bluffs Golf Course in Vermillion, South Dakota saw soggy and cool conditions for golfers. The Defenders are in 9th place out of 11 teams through the first dady.
Defenders were led by Sophomore, Alyssa Fedders of Sioux Center who shot a 93 placing her in a four way tie for 28th.
Tess Hemmila of Dordt was three strokes behind Fedders with a 96 putting her in a five way tie for 35th.
The Chargers of Briar Cliff hold a confident first day lead with a team score of 317 and with three individual golfers in the top 4. Charger sophomore Arianna Presilla, of Weston, Florida holds the first day lead with a 77.
13 strokes separates second place Morningside from Briar Cliff after the first day.
