Joscelyn Wind steadily worked her way up through the standings in events 5-7 in the pentathlon and ended in eighth place, making up 60 points in the final event, the 800 meters to earn All-American status. Wind had a time of 2:22 in the 800 and totaled 4,465 points. Wind started the day in 13th place. The winner had 5,120 points in the event.
Ike Van Kempen had a best of 152-3 in the discus and placed 14th in the 30 thrower field.
The women’s 4x800 team of Jenna Stephens, Sarah Krysl, Erica De Schiffart and Nicole Slater ran 9:18 and finished seventh in the field. Perennial power British Columbia won the event going away with an 8:43. The quartet earned All-American Status with the performance.
Less than 24 hours after competing in the 10,000 meters Caleb Drake ran in the 5,000 meter prelims and finished 21st in 15:48. The final spot in the finals of the event on Saturday was run in 15:27.
The men’s 4x400 of Matt Van Eps, Caleb Herman, Mark Bakker and Noah Imperial finished in 3:16 and ran 12th in the prelims, missing the finals by three seconds.
