Day one of the NAIA Track and Field National Championships was held on Thursday, May 24.
The day was highlighted by Audrey Brooks competing in and finishing sixth in the 10,000 meters in a time of 37:57.
Much of the afternoon's and evening's competitions were delayed by severe weather which pushed the schedule back over two hours.
Audrey Brooks claimed All-American status with a sixth place time of 37:57 in the 10,000 meters.
The women’s 4x800 of Jenna Stephens, Sarah Krysl, Erica De Schiffart and Nicole Slater ran 9:19 and qualifies for the finals.
David Davelaar finished 12th in the hammer throw with a throw of 174-0.
Joscelyn Wind is 13th in the pentathon after four events and has 2,586 points.
The men’s 4x800 of Anthony Ghiorso, David Temte, Gideon De Graaf and Lucas Van Eps ran 7:37 which was a season best for these four. The time did not qualify for finals.
Caleb Drake finished seventh in the 10,000 meters in 32:06 to claim All-American status.
