Concordia def. Dordt 74-59


Dordt’s men were unable to stage a comeback and fell to Concordia 74-59 in GPAC play on Saturday, January 20.

Dordt led early but the Bulldogs linked together a 7-0 run to lead 15-10 with 12:51 left in the first half and never trailed again.

The Bulldogs took advantage of a 70 percent first of shooting to lead 38-27 and the lead bulged to 47-30 five minutes into the second half.

The Defenders rallied to within 55-50 with 8:29 left in the game but 10-0 run over the next three minutes effectively put the contest out of reach.


Dordt was led by Ben Gesink’s 14 points and Josh Van Lingen added 11.

Kyle Lang added nine points and Marcus Winterfeld grabbed six rebounds.

Dordt was 22-65 from the field and 8-28 from the three-point line while converting 7-11 free throws.

Concordia was 27-43 from field and 14-19 from the free throw line.

Concordia had a 39-28 rebounding edge.

Dordt forced 19 turnovers and committed 12.

Dordt is 10-13 overall and 4-9 in conference play.

Concordia is 6-5 in the GPAC and 14-6 overall.


Dordt will travel to Mount Marty on Wednesday, January 24.
