Dordt defeats Emmaus Bible 119-62
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dordt men’s basketball team bounced back from a disappointing loss on Friday night to defeat Emmaus Bible on Saturday afternoon in a game hosted by Moody Bible in Chicago, Illinois 117-62.
Dordt charged out to a 22-7 first half lead and eventually took a 58-32 lead into the half.
The second half was more of the same as the Defenders outscored Emmaus 59-30 in the second half.
All 15 players who suited up for Dordt saw action and scored.
Dordt converted 47-79 shots for 60 percent success and had a 51-24 rebounding advantage.
Emmaus was 22-58 from the field for 38 percent.
Kyle Lang scored a career high 27 points while making 10-12 field goals and 7-9 three-point shots in 16 minutes of play.
Dejay Fykstra added 10 points while converting 4-6 field goals.
Marcus Winterfeld scored nine while Kobe Critchley, Ben Gesink and Jesse Jansma all had eight points.
Dordt is now 5-4 and will be off until next Friday, November 24 when the Defenders host Fisk (Tennessee) in the first of two games at a classic hosted by the Defenders.
