Nebraska defeats Dordt 7-3
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dordt Blades fought from behind nearly the entire game in a 7-3 loss to Nebraska in MACHA hockey on Saturday afternoon in Sioux Center.
The visitors scored two goals in the first period but a Jesse Minderhoud goal off an assist by Tom Soodsma made it 2-1. After another Nebraska goal Dordt cut it to 3-2 in the 10th minute of the second period with a goal by Jacob Petrie on another assist by Soodsma and Caleb Koomans.
Nebraska responded almost immediately with a goal at the 10:05 mark for a 4-2 lead and the Huskers added three more goals in the third before Dordt finished the scoring with Keaton De Jong knocking in an assist from Koomans.
Dordt was outshot 67-24 with Bryce Andry making 60 saves in goal for the Blades.
Dordt concludes the regular season on Friday and Saturday, February 2 and 3 at Northern Illinois in West Dundee, Illinois.
