The Dordt College women won the NAIA Seminole Valley Stampede on Saturday morning, October 21 in Cedar Rapids. Iowa.

The Defenders totaled 96 points in the 28 team field and finished 33 points in front of MidAmerica Nazarene’s second place finish.

Audrey Brooks was the first Defender across the finish line with a time of 18:24 with the winner clocking a 17:33. 

Dordt was one of five teams from the GPAC to compete in the event.

279 runners made up the race field which ran under sunny and warm conditions for the middle of October.  Winds for the race were 10-25 mph with 71 degree temps.

This was the final “regular” season meet of the year with the GPAC Championship scheduled for two weeks from today, Saturday, November 4 in Sioux Center on the Dordt College campus.

“The ladies ran very well this week, placing first out of 28 teams.  Audrey Brooks ran the best race of her career finishing 4th individually out of 279 runners and leading the Defender women.  Olivia Couch also ran the strongest race of her career leading the pack of no. 2-no. 6 runners that finished within 43 seconds of each other.  We look forward to recovering and preparing for the GPAC Conference meet in two weeks on the campus of Dordt College.”
