THE RACE

The Dordt College Defender women’s cross country won the inaugural Defender Holiday Inn Express Classsic run on the Dordt College campus Saturday morning, September 9.

The Defender women narrowly nipped Morningside for first place with  team total of 54 to 58 for the Mustangs.

The race was a 5,000 meter competition covering two loops.

Northwestern’s Katie Bosch won the event with an 18:20.

Dordt fielded an alumni team that finished 4th.

111 runners competed at the event.

COACH WOLF SAID

“The ladies ran real well.  We had a few athletes that we held out last week that were able to come back and ran well and we were able to come away with a win and we were real excited about that. I think the ladies will continue to improve. We had some young athletes who are in the top-seven and we’re excited about that group.
