Dordt defeats Dakota Wesleyan 1-0
HOW IT HAPPENED
A goal late in the first half by Raquelle Mouw stood up as the Dordt Defender women’s soccer team earned its second conference win of the season, a 1-0 win over the visiting Dakota Wesleyan Tigers.
Mouw’s goal came off an assist by Kenzie Bousema as the Defenders earned a narrow win for the second day in a row after controlling play for the majority of the game.
Dordt had a 28-5 shot advantage and an 11-2 shots on goal edge.
Belle Helgerson secured the win in goal with two saves and recorded her third shutout in goal and lowered her goals allowed average to 0.83.
Mouw’s goal was her team leading eighth of the season.
Dordt is 7-4 this season and 2-1 in GPAC play. Dordt is off until Saturday, October 7 when the Defenders face Doane in Crete.
Dakota Wesleyan slips to 0-3 in the league and 5-5 overall.
