Briar Cliff defeats Dordt 4-0
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Briar Cliff Chargers used a fast start and handed Dordt the Defenders’ second loss in GPAC play with 4-0 decision in Sioux City on Tuesday afternoon.
The Chargers scored in the 17th, 25th and 27th minutes to take a 3-0 lead and added a fourth goal in the 39th minute.
Dordt was outshot overall 25-11 and on goal 11-6.
Seth Lewison had six saves in goal for the Defenders.
VJ Hachaba and Patrick Munsey each had two shots on goal for the Defenders.
Prichard Sibanda had two goals for the Chargers.
Briar Cliff had an 8-4 corner kick edge.
Briar Cliff had 18 total shots in the first half and put ten of them on goal.
Dordt is 0-2 in the GPAC and 5-5 overall.
Briar Cliff is 8-1 overall and 1-0 in GPAC play.
COACH STIEMSMA SAID
“We dug ourselves quite a hole. Briar Cliff is quick and executed well. They had us on our heels a lot and that made it difficult. We played much better in the second half and we played with a lot of energy and pride. Our best opportunities came in the second half.”
Dordt will face Martin Luther (Minnesota) at home on Friday afternoon and will host Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday in GPAC play.
