Benedictine defeats Dordt 4-0

The Benedictine Ravens pushed through for four goals in the second half to defeat the Dordt Defenders in non-conference soccer on Saturday afternoon in Sioux Center.

The teams played to a scoreless tie at halftime before the visitors scored in the 52nd, 58th, 84th and 90th minute.

Benedictine had most of the offensive chances with a 21-5 shots advantage and a 12-1 shots on goal edge.

Seth Lewison had eight saves in goal for the Defenders.

Nathan Struyk had Dordt’s only shot on goal.

Dordt is 2-1 while Benedictine is 2-0-1.

Both teams were playing for the second day in a row and Benedectine capped a busy stretch of three games in four days.

"I thought our defensive strategy was good. We played a really solid first half. They were able to capitalize on some our mistakes in the second half.  We need to be more patient and creative in the attacking area—I believe that will come. There was also many positives to take away from the match."

Dordt will host Waldorf on Tuesday afternoon in their final home game of a four game homestand to start the season.
