Jamestown defeats Dordt 5-1
HOW IT HAPPENED
Jamestown never trailed and took game two of their doubleheader with Dordt 5-1 in Tucson, Arizona on Monday, March 6.
The Jimmies scored a run each in the top of the fifth and sixth innings to lead 2-0.
Dordt got its run in the bottom of the sixth on a Travis Waara triple and Jake Thayer lifted a sacrifice fly to centerfield to get the run in. Cam Gingerich had a two-out triple in the inning but was stranded at third when the inning came to a close.
Jamestown put the game away with a three run seventh inning and Dordt didn’t have an answer in falling 5-1.
-Michael Grady was the pitcher of record and was charged with five unearned runs on six hits and struck out five with a base on balls. Grady pitched six and two-third innings.
-Dordt was out hit 6-3.
-All of Dordt’s hits were extra base hits with triples by Waara and Gingerich and a double by Fowler.
-Dordt is 3-5 this season while Jamestown is 12-3.
-Dordt will play Winnipeg in a doubleheader on Tuesday, March 7
