Dordt defeats William Penn 8-3
HOW IT HAPPENED
Dordt scored seven runs in the fifth inning on the way to an 8-3 win over William Penn in game two of their doubleheader in Tucson, Arizona on Saturday, March 4.
Trent Roose had a triple for the big blow in the fifth inning and the Defenders played station to station baseball with several singles and bases on balls strung together to build on the lead.
Luke Drooger finished the game on the mound with two strikeouts and two hits allowed over the final two innings.
-Dordt was outhit 8-7 and overcame two errors to secure the sweep.
-Glen Thompson had two hits and knocked in two runs.
-Colton Van Otterloo had a pair of runs batted in as did Roose.
-Connor Hopkins as the starting pitcher and went five innings and allowed three runs on six hits with six strikeouts and one base on balls.
