St. Ambroe defeats Dordt 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-23)
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bee from St. Ambrose held off the Dordt Defenders in men’s volleyball on Saturday afternoon in Lamoni, Iowa.
The Bees handled Dordt 25-13 in set one but Dordt was able close the gap to 25-20 in set two to put themselves firmly in the driver’s seat.
Dordt would battled to within 24-23 in set three but couldn’t force set three and fell 25-23. The win was the first for St. Ambrose over Dordt this season.
The Defenders were limited to a .037 kill efficiency and 22 kills.
St. Ambrose had 39 kills and hit for a.226 kill efficiency.
Ben Tiemersma had eight kills and Alex Durbin and Danny Beaton each had four kills.
Cobi Jones had 17 assists and Mark Schussler had 13 digs with Jones getting to nine digs.
Davis Konynenbelt had three block assists as Dordt scored four points on blocks.
Dordt is 1-21 and will open post-season play on Tuesday night. St. Ambrose improves to 16-11 this season.
