Ottawa defeats Dordt 3-0 (25-16, 25-12, 25-12)
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Ottawa Braves earned a 3-0 win over Dordt in men’s volleyball play at Sioux Center on Monday night, March 6.
The Braves pulled away from a 6-6 tie in set one for an 8-6 lead and scored another three in a row after Dordt broke the run. A six point run put the set out of reach later in the contest with Ottawa going from up 15-11 to up 21-11 before winning 25-16
Ottawa had a 5-0 run to start set two and won the set 25-12 after leading 19-5. Dordt held a 3-1 lead in set three but the Braves ran off five in a row before winning 25-12.
-Dordt hit for a .031 kill efficiency with Ben Tiemersma recording eight kills and Danny Beaton had four. Tiemersma had eight digs to lead the Defenders in that category.
-Tyler Postma put up 14 assists and Cobi Jones had an ace serve for the Defenders.
-Ottawa had a .513 kill efficiency with Ryan Omdoll and Daniel Jacobs each recording 13 kills. Luke Pope had 36 assists.
-Dordt will travel to face Lindenwood, Missouri Baptist and Greenville (Illinois) this Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
-Dordt is 1-10 overall and Ottawa is 16-2.
