Ottawa defeats Dordt 3-0 (25-15, 25-15, 25-13)
HOW IT HAPPENED
Dordt College dropped a 3-0 decision to the Ottawa Braves in men’s volleyball action on Saturday morning, February 18.
The Defenders dropped sets one and two by identical 25-15 scores and were on the short end of a 25-13 decision in set three.
-Dordt had a .177 kill efficiency with 62 attacks and got to 20 digs on defense while scoring seven points on blocks.
-Ottawa recorded a .357 kill efficiency with 44 kills on 84 swings and had eight service aces and 32 digs with two points on blocks.
-Danny Beaton and Ben Tiemersma each had five kills and Tyler Postma put up 14 assists.
-Mark Schussler recorded seven digs with Marcus DeWeerd accounting for five digs.
-Alex Durbin was in on two solo blocks and four assisted blocks while Postma had one solo and three assists at the net.
-Dordt falls to 1-7 this season while Ottawa is 11-1.
COACH HANSON SAID
“We came out slower than our last match and needed much more consistency in each area. Our blocking had a nice showing today. Tristan Verduzco came into the match and gave us a really nice boost in play and energy.”
-Dordt will host Briar Cliff on Tuesday, February 21.
