THE FINISH

The Defender women won the Mount Marty Invite by a narrow 32-35 margin with the Morningside Mustangs on Saturday, October 22 in a meet run at the Human Services Center near Yankton, South Dakota.

COACH NATE WOLF SAID

“Justine Van Zee led the women’s team with a great finish. The ladies showed their depth with six women in in the top 12 and nine in the top 20.  We came away from today with increased confidence and good momentum in conference in two weeks.”

 

NOTES

-The race was run on a 5,000 meter course.

-110 runners took part in the nine team field.

-The Defenders had a 1-5 split of 00:52.

-Tiffany Shepherd of Morningside won the race with a time of 18:24.

-Miranda Moss and Rebekah Olson didn’t finish in the top-seven for Dordt but did finish 19th and 20th overall.

-This is the final tuneup before the GPAC Championships on Saturday, November 5.
