Waldorf defeats Dordt 6-1
HOW IT HAPPENED
Dordt was on the short end of a 6-1 decision at Waldorf on Tuesday, August 30 in Forest City, Iowa. The Warriors led 1-0 at halftime and added to the lead with a quick goal in the first minute of the second half.
Goals in the 51st and 52nd minutes pushed the lead to 4-0. Knolson Collin had a hand in the first three goals of the second half, scoring two and assisting on another.
Alex Durbin scored his second goal of the season with a counter off an assist by Conner Stephens in the 54th minute. Waldorf closed the scoring with goals in the 69th and 78th minutes.
-Dordt was outshot 21-18 overall but had an 11-10 on goal advantage.
-Dordt is 0-2 this season and Waldorf improves to 1-1.
-The Defenders host a pair of games this weekend against Bethany and Presentation on Friday and Saturday at 2:00 both days.
COACH STIEMSMA SAID
“We got scored on in the second half a lot. We will need to tighten up a lot to win in the future. We got impatient and we obviously have some work to do.”
