Concordia defeats Dordt 90-55
HOW IT HAPPENED
A 12-0 run by the Concordia Bulldogs at the end of the first quarter propelled them to a 90-55 win over the Dordt Defenders on Saturday, February 18.
Dordt was up 12-9 after a Kenzie Bousema free throw with 6:28 left in the first quarter but the Bulldogs scored the next 12 points as Dordt went scoreless till the second quarter and was down 21-12. The lead eventually grew to 33-14 with 5:40 left in the second quarter and Dordt was down 42-24 at halftime.
Concordia outscored Dordt 28-19 in the third quarter before securing their 19th win of the GPAC season.
-Dordt was led by Paige Engbers with nine points and Shae Pollema added eight.
-Kim Kroeze, Engbers, Pollema and Bousema all had six rebounds as Dordt had a 52-41 rebounding advantage.
-Dordt as 17-63 from the field and Concordia converted 31-59 from the field.
-Dordt finishes the year 13-17 overall and 5-15 in the GPAC.
-Concordia had already locked up the GPAC title and finished the regular season with a 28-2 overall record and a 19-1 GPAC mark.
