Hastings defeats Dordt 102-87
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dordt College Defender men’s basketball team lost a 102-87 decision to Hastings on Saturday afternoon in Hastings.
The Defenders grabbed a one point lead at 30-29 with 6:13 left in the first half on an Alec Henrickson three-point basket. Dordt was unable to sustain the advantage and Hastings took a 46-37 lead into the intermission. The lead went to double figures early in the second half and was never less than eight points as the Defenders lost by the 15 point margin.
-Dordt was 27-67 from the floor for 40.3 percent success and 11-25 from the three-point line.
-Dordt had a 36-34 rebounding advantage and committed 13 turnovers to 12 for the Broncos.
-Dalton Franken scored 32 in the loss while going 11-21 from the floor and he had a team high eight rebounds.
-Alex Terpstra and Leighton Sampson each had 14 points and Sampson had five rebounds. Alec Henrickson scored eight.
-Marcus Winterfeld had four assists and Chandler Brunsting had three.
-Rich Williams led Hastings with 20 and was 6-13 from the field and 4-4 from the three-point line.
-Dordt is 6-7 this season and 0-4 in the GPAC while Hastings is now 6-5 overall and 3-1 in the conference.
-Dordt will host Midland on Wednesday night in GPAC play.
