Dordt defeats Valley City State 99-71
HOW IT HAPPENED
A fast start by the Dordt Defenders vaulted them to a 99-71 win over Valley City State in non-conference play on Friday night, November 4 in Sioux Center.
Marcus Winterfeld made two three-pointers to start the scoring and Dordt never trailed in the game and by less than ten points from the 15:59 mark of the first half when they went up 16-5. Alec Henrickson had a three-point basket and Dalton Franken added a three-point bucket as Dordt made its first four three-point shots and made 10-15 three-point baskets on the way to a 49-25 halftime lead.
Valley City State got no closer than 21 in the second half before Dordt took the 27 point win.
-Dalton Franken scored a game high 22 points and had eight rebounds.
-Alec Henrickson was 4-4 from the three-point line and ended with 12 points and four assists.
-Taylor Feenstra contributed 10 points in the second half.
-Andrew O’Donnell had six rebounds, six assists and three steals.
-Alex Terpstra and Josh Van Lingen each had nine points for the Defenders.
-Dordt was 36-62 from the field for 58.1 percent success and 13-23 from the three-point line.
-Valley City State was 22-53 from the field and was led by Rashad Satahoo with 17 points.
-Dordt is 3-0 and will host Jamestown on Saturday at 6:00.
