Saint Ambrose defeats Dordt 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-19)
Dordt was unable to overcome Saint Ambrose in men’s volleyball at Davenport, Iowa on Friday night.
Dordt never led in set one, forcing a tie at 9-9 but the hosts scored seven of the next nine points to lead 16-11 and bounced back to tie it 18-18 on a kill by Nathan Struyk. A service error gave the Bees a lead and they went on to win 25-22.
Set two was more of the same with Dordt tying it 7-7 but a four point run by Saint Ambrose put the Bees in control and they won 25-19. Dordt was within 15-13 in set three but back to back points put them ahead by a comfortable four point margin and Dordt was unable to dent the lead and lost 25-19.
-Dordt had a .174 kill efficiency to .313 for Saint Ambrose.
-Mark Tiemersma had a team high eight kills.
-Kyle Vander Zee had seven kills and four digs for Dordt.
-Nathan Struyk had a team high six digs and Austin Lindemulder put up 14 assists.
