Dordt defeats Doane 3-0



Dordt shutout the Doane Tigers in GPAC play on Saturday afternoon in Sioux Center to secure the eighth spot in the GPAC post-season tournament.  Raquel Mouw scored all three goals for the Defenders as Dordt improved to 3-7 in GPAC play and 7-10-1 overall.

Mouw scored on an assist by Jalissa De Haan in the 20th minute and then added another goal in the 27th minute to send Dordt to the intermission up 2-0.

Mouw added to her total with a goal in the 49th minute as the Defenders qualified for the GPAC Tournament for the second straight year.



Dordt had a 12-6 shots on goal advantage and a 23-6 overall shots advantage.

Dordt had a 6-1 corner kick advantage.

Dee Felts made six saves for the Defenders in preserving the shutout.

Doane’s scoreless streak has now reached 578 minutes to finish the season.

Mouw has scored nine goals this season for the Defenders.

Doane finishes the season with a 2-12-2 overall record and a 2-6-2 conference mark.



Dordt will travel to Hastings to face the no. 1 seed Broncos on Tuesday, November 1 at 7:00.

The other quarterfinals feature (4) Northwestern at (5) Morningside; Briar Cliff at (3) Concordia and (7) College of Saint Mary at (2) Midland.

The semifinals are scheduled for Saturday, November 5 and the finals are Thursday, November 10.
