College of Saint Mary def. Dordt 2-0



The College of Saint Mary Flames scored two second half goals and earned a 2-0 win over the Dordt Defenders in women’s Great Plains Athletic Conference soccer play on Saturday afternoon, October 8, in Omaha, Nebraska.

The first goal came in the 51st minute when Lindsey Smith found the net and Kennedy Cascio added a goal for insurance in the 73rd minute for the final of 2-0.

Dordt put two shots on goal in the 75th and 76th minutes but was unable to get either through to make it interesting down the stretch.



-Dordt was outshot on goal 9-8 and both teams had a total of 13 shots.

-Dee Felts had six saves for the Defenders and took the loss in goal.

-Dordt had the only two corner kicks of the game and had a 10-6 shots advantage in the second half.

-Dordt is 2-2 in the GPAC and 6-5-1 overall and the Flames improve to 3-3 in the GPAC and 6-7 overall.

-Dordt will host Northwestern on Wednesday, October 12.
