Dordt defeats Jamestown 3-2
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Dordt Defenders got goals from three different players to win a non-conference contest with Jamestown on Saturday, September 17 in Sioux Center, Iowa.
Dordt’s first goal came from Kristin Traeger in the 36th minute and Tori Mann followed with a goal by Natalie Sakuma less than two minutes later to put Dordt up 2-0 at halftime.
The visitors knocked one in the net in the 59th minute but Raquelle Mouw gave Dordt some room to breathe with a goal in the 77th minute with Sakuma assisting again.
Jamestown did cut the lead to 3-2 in the 89th minute but ran out of time in the comeback attempt.
THE NUMBERS
Dordt was outshot 18-13 and on goal 11-8.
Dee Felts had nine saves in goal to preserve the win for Dordt.
Jamestown had a 4-0 corner kicks edge but was whistled for 10 offsides calls.
Sakuma now has seven assists and Mouw six goals. Mann has three goals this season and Traeger scored her first goal of the season.
Dordt is 4-3-1 and will face Hastings next week Saturday on the road in Hastings. Jamestown falls to 4-3 with the loss.
