Dordt defeats Trinity Bible 59-24
HOW IT HAPPENED
Dordt scored on eight of its ten possessions and beat Trinity Bible in Ellendale, North Dakota on Saturday, November 12 in non-conference football.
Dordt scored on its first three possessions with a 40 yard run by Bryce Lidtka, followed by pass completions of 19 and 27 yards from Brock Lamle to Jake Dodge and Jason Miller. Dordt was up 21-0 when the quarter ended and none of the drives took more than 3:28 off the clock.
Trinity Bible scored on a time consuming drive to cut the lead to 21-8, culminating the 75 yard drive with a Landen Bradley one yard plunge on the 18th play of the drive. Lidtka scored moments later to finish a 68 yard drive and the score was 28-8 at halftime.
Marcus Whipper started the second half with an 84 yard kickoff return for a touchdown and the Defenders led 35-8.
Lidtka scored on touchdown runs of 49, 49 and 37 yards and Jeff Paepke had a 42 yard field goal and Trinity Bible had two scores in the second half.
-Dordt ran for 325 yards on 36 carries while Trinity had 265 yards rushing on 74 attempts.
-Lidtka ran for 258 yards on 20 carries and scored five touchdowns.
-Kenneth Lewis had four rushes for 40 yards.
-Lamle passed for 69 yards on 4-7 completions. Jason Miller had three catches for 50 yards and Jake Dodge had one catch.
-Casey Byker had an interception for the Defenders while Josiah Kotte had 10 solo and nine assisted tackles with a sack. Tyson Dahlgrin had six solo tackles and 11 assisted tackles.
-Dordt finishes the season with a school record five wins.
-Lidtka set a new school record with 258 yards, breaking his previous mark of 254 yards set against Dakota State in this year’s season opener.
-This was the fourth game Lidtka has run for over 200 yards and the ninth time he ran for more than 100 yards. His five touchdowns were a new school record and he has scored 24 this season.
