Central Methodist defeats Dordt 7-2
HOW IT HAPPENED
Central Methodist made it a sweep of the Dordt Defenders with a 7-2 win on Thursday in Tucson, Arizona.
Dordt scored a run in the first on a Cameron Gingerich single and a Bryan Wallman triple and Dordt left runners at the corners when the inning ended.
Central Methodist tied the score with a run in the bottom of the first and then took the lead with two in the third inning. Dordt responded with a run in the fourth inning on a Trent Roose single.
Down 3-2, the Defenders allowed a run on two hits in the fifth inning and then put the game out of reach with three runs on three hits in the sixth inning and retired Dordt in order in the seventh for the 7-2 win.
-Central Methodist outhit Dordt 9-7 and both teams had two errors.
-Jake Thayer and Cameron Gingerich each were 2-4 with Gingerich scoring a run.
-Wallman, Trent Roose and Taylor Neuroth each had singles.
-Michael Grady took the loss and allowed nine hits, six earned runs with two walks and three strikeouts.
-Dordt is now 7-7 and will face William Penn on Friday to conclude its Spring Break trip.
