The Meet

The Dordt Defenders headed to Lincoln, Nebraska to take part in the third qualifier of the 2015-16 GPAC Women's Golf season on Wednesday, April 13, at the Highlands Golf Course. Dordt shot 35 strokes better than their last GPAC qualifier in the fall, finishing with a team score of 384 on the day. The Mustangs of Morningside College shot a team low of 325 on the day, with the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers coming in second with a final score of 330.

Notes

Kristin Stoffels was the top finisher for Dordt posting a score of 89 on the day. Her score was good enough to finish tied for 31st.

Allison Depko of Midland was the top finisher of the day with a score of 78, which is 6 over par.

Mount Marty finished the day in fourth place with a round of 339, but still holds a slight lead with a three-round total of 1017. Dakota Wesleyan is close behind with a total of 1018.

The remaining qualifier will be played on May 2, 2016 at Wild Oak Golf Course in Mitchell, South Dakota, to determine the 2015-16 GPAC Women's Golf Champion and Individual Medalist.The GPAC will qualify two teams for the NAIA National Golf Championships.  The medalist, if not a member of the championship team, will also advance to the championships.

Dordt will return to the course on the 21st and 22nd of April as the Defenders and Red Raiders host the Dordt/Northwestern Spring Invitational. Day one will be played in Sioux Center at The Ridge Golf Course. Day two will be hosted in Orange City at Landsmeer Golf Course.
