The Meet

The Dordt College men's golf team headed to Orange City Iowa on Thursday to participate in the Northwestern College Invitational at Landsmeer Golf Course. 10 players participated for the Defenders with the top group shooting a total of 323 earning fifth place on the day. Dordt's second group shot a 339, just four strokes behind seventh place finisher, Mount Marty College. Iowa Western Community College won the meet with a score of 299. The host, Northwestern, placed second with a final score of 302.

Notes

 - Tony Kallevig was Dordt's top golfer on the day shooting a 76 to place him seventh overall. Just four strokes behind the top finishers. 

 - Iowa Western's Nick Louy and Northwestern's Justin Kraft claimed medalist honors with rounds of 72.

- Weather conditions were less than ideal for golfers as Sioux County was under a wind advisory Thursday afternoon until 6pm. 

 

The Defenders return to action for their 3rd GPAC meet in the 2015-2016 golf season on April 11th, in Lincoln, Nebraska. Dordt finished 7th out of 12 teams in their last GPAC outing on October 1st, 2015.
