Graceland defeats Dordt 3-0 (25-15, 25-12, 25-21)
HOW IT HAPPENED
Graceland used a .272 kill efficiency to take a 3-0 decision for Dordt in play Saturday morning, February 6 at the Tachikara Classic in Parkville, Missouri.
The Yellow Jackets used high kill efficiencies in sets one and two to win 25-15 and 25-12. The Defenders had their best showing of the match in set three as they forced seven Graceland attack errors and recorded eight kills of their own before falling 25-21 in set three.
-Dordt had 20 kills and 20 attack errors in 72 attacks.
-Graceland improved to 13-1 with the win and had 36 kills and 14 errors in the match.
-Dordt recorded 25 digs and two points on blocks while Graceland recorded 11 points on blocks.
-Kyle Vander Zee had five kills and Mark Tiemersma four with Eric Geels putting up 10 assists.
-Geels led the Dordt defensive effort with nine digs and Andrew Kotsier had five digs.
COACH HANSON SAID
“We played a great team and needed to come out strong in our efforts against them. Many pieces were off for us in this match…things that we could control. We will have another opportunity to play high level volleyball this afternoon and enjoy our play.”
