HOW IT HAPPENED

Dordt used a fast start and held off the Minnesota Morris Cougars in game two of their doubleheader on Monday, March 28

After a scoreless top of the first Dordt got a double from Cameron Gingerich to start the home half of the inning and Colton Van Otterloo singled.  A Jake Thayer single got a run in and Glen Thompson doubled in another run.  A Trent Roose ground out added a third run.

Van Otterloo figured in to Dordt’s fourth run when he tripled to start the third inning and Jake Thayer singled him in.

Dordt added a run in the fourth inning to lead 5-0 but Minnesota Morris got two runs on three hits in the top half of the fifth inning.

The Defenders responded to the threat with a three run fifth as Thompson doubled in a run and another run came on an error and a third run was scored on a wild pitch.

A two run sixth inning by the visitors kept it interesting but Dordt closed the door in the seventh inning, ending the game with two runners on base for the Cougars.
