Dordt’s lead team is in second place after day one of the Siouxland Invite hosted by Northwestern and Dordt on September 10 and 11.  Dordt shot a 288 at Landsmeer in Orange City on day one to tie Hastings for second behind the leader Northwestern with a 274.  Morningside is three shots back of Dordt and Hastings and Dakota Wesleyan and Doane are five and six shots back in a field where the second through tenth place teams are separated by 11 shots.

The course was set up par 71 and 6456 yards in length.  Playing conditions were favorable with light winds and mild temperatures.

Tony Kallevig shot a 68 and is in third place behind Northwestern’s Justin Kraft and Dane Waldron who both shot 67.  Jay Timmer recorded a 72 for the Defenders and is tied for 14th.

Dordt sent a total of three teams to the event with the second and third units shooting 316 and 323.  98 golfers made up the 18 team field.

ROUND TWO

The teams will tee off beginning at 10:00 on Friday morning at The Ridge in Sioux Center in what should be another favorable day weather wise.  The day offers a preview of GPAC #1 hosted by the Defenders next week at The Ridge as well.  Nine GPAC schools are competing in the event.
