HOW IT HAPPENED

Dordt College led at halftime but was unable to secure a road win in a non-conference decision at Jamestown University (North Dakota) on Friday, November 6.

A tightly contested first half, Dordt led 39-36 after leading by six on two different occasions.  Dordt was up 36-30 after Taylor Feenstra made a basket with 1:32 remaining in the half and a three-point shot by Alec Henrickson put the Defenders up 39-33 before settling for the three point halftime lead.

Jamestown came back to tie the game at 43-43 but Dordt was able to push the lead to six at 49-43 on an Andrew O’Donnell free throw.  The game wavered between a tie and a six point lead for the next several minutes before Austin Bykerk knocked down a shot with 10:02 remaining for a 63-57 Dordt advantage.

Jamestown responded by scoring 11 of the next 13 points to go up 68-65.  Dordt never led again.  Dordt cut the lead to 72-71 on a Nathan Rindels basket with 5:24 left but a three-point basket ignited a 7-0 run that Dordt was unable to recover from in falling by the final margin of nine.
