THE MEET

The Dordt College Defender women’s cross country team claimed the 2015 GPAC Championship with a 44 point performance at the meet hosted by Doane College in Crete, Nebraska.

NOTES

-Nebraska Wesleyan ran 2nd  with 76 points, narrowly finishing in front of Morningside with 77.

-Dordt’s top-five runners were separated by 41 seconds.

-Byl’s second place time was 21 seconds off the pace set by GPAC champion Marissa DeWispelare from Doane.

-104 runners took  part in the 5,000 meter race.

-Top-15 runners are accorded all-GPAC honors.

-Byl is a four-time all-GPAC performer.

-Douma and Van Zee both claimed all-GPAC honors as well last season.

-Dordt will run in the NAIA Championships on November 21 at Charlotte, North Carolina.

 

COACH WOLF SAID

“The ladies ran very strong today winning the conference by just over 30 points with four runners all conference (top 15) and a fifth at 16. The pack continues to run tighter as the season progresses,” said Dordt College coach Nate Wolf.
