The Dordt Defender volleyball team bounced back from back to back losses with a 3-1 win over the College of Saint Mary Flames in Omaha, Nebraska on Saturday afternoon in GPAC play.

Dordt found itself down 15-13 after back to back points by the hosts on a kill and an attack error.  A Flame attack error got Dordt to within 15-14 and Jill Schouten had a service ace followed by a Jamie Gesink kill.  A service error tied the score at 16-16 but the Defenders responded with a three point run on kills by Elizabeth Kiel, Brooke Granstra and Ema Altena.  Dordt continued to pull away and finished the set with four straight points with Granstra knockinganother kill through and Jenna Horstman had two kills in the run with the game winner recorded by Haley Moss.

Set two had the hosts pull out to a 19-13 advantage before Dordt staged a comeback that came up just short.  The Defenders were down 22-15 before running off six points in a row with Granstra getting four kills.  Dordt eventually tied it 23-23 on a Horstman kill and Horstman again tied it 24-24.  The Flames never gave up the lead and scored back to back points on kills after they let the score get tied on a service error at 25-25.
