Dordt defeats College of the Ozarks 25-17, 20-25, 25-19, 25-16
Dordt won set one 25-17. After leading most of the early action, the Defenders relinquished their lead at 16-15 as the Ozarks went on a 3-0 run. Dordt responded with a Brooke Granstra kill to tie it and a pair of attack errors by the Bobcats put Dordt up for good. A pair of kills by Haley Moss and a service ace by Granstra put the Defenders up 22-16 and they went on to win set one 25-17.
Ozarks controlled set two with a 16-11 lead but the Defenders mounted a comeback, taking a brief lead at 20-18 with Haley Moss completing the 9-2 run for the lead. The Defenders were unable to handle the prosperity of the run and gave up seven points in a row and the Bobcats had evened the match with a 25-20 win.
Dordt continued to reel a bit in set three, getting behind 7-3 before running off five points in a row and the Defenders never trailed again. Set four had the Defenders up 11-3 early and the Bobcats never mounted a threat in losing 25-16.
-Haley Moss had 13 kills and three block assists.
-Ema Altena had 12 kills.
-Jamie Gesink recorded 35 assists and 19 digs along with six kills.
-Brooke Granstra had nine kills and a team high four ace serves.
-Summer Jansen recorded 28 digs.
-Jill Schouten had 14 digs.
-The College of the Ozarks got 15 kills by Chloe Shepherd and 13 by Danielle Curnes. Lindsay Boone put up 23 assists and Brandi Stahl had 20 digs.
-Dordt had six blocks and seven aces.
-The Ozarks had four points on blocks and six service aces.
-Dordt hit for a .258 kill efficiency.
Dordt faces nationally ranked Rocky Mountain Saturday afternoon. Dordt enters play with a 6-1 record and a six match winning streak intact. Ozarks is now 2-5.
