Non-conference Match

Jamestown defeats Dordt 1-0 in men’s soccer.

Jamestown was able to get a goal across the line in the 23rd minute and made that score stand up in defeating Dordt at Jamestown in non-conference play.    Jack Humphries scored the goal for the Jimmies.

Dordt put together several challenges in the second half but couldn’t get the equalizer.

-Dordt was outshot on goal 6-0 and overall 14-7.

-Jack McCool had five saves in goal for the Defenders and his goals allowed average dropped to 1.33.

-Seven different Dordt players had one shot attempt each.

-Jamestown had a 10-6 corner kick advantage.

-Dordt’s defense has allowed 1.33 goals per game.

-This was the first time this season Dordt has been shut out.

“We played a lot better in the second half,” said Dordt coach Craig Stiemsma.  “We had trouble stringing together passes in the first half and gave up too many corners which ultimately led to a goal.  Jamestown survived a relentless onslaught in the last 12 minutes where we had several dangerous opportunities.  It was hard fought to say the least.”

-Dordt will try to stop a three game winless streak when they host GPAC favorite Hastings on Saturday, September 26.  Dordt is currently 3-3.
