Dordt defeats Dakota Wesleyan 2-1
HOW IT HAPPENED
Dordt College bounced back from a loss on Saturday to GPAC favorite Hastings with a 2-1 win on Tuesday night over the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers in conference play in Mitchell, South Dakota.
Dordt started the scoring with a Natalie Sakuma goal in the 52nd minute and then struck quickly after that with a goal by Nicole Postman on a Marissa LeDuc assist in the 58th minute.
Brittany Forsman got the Tigers back to within one with a goal in the 62nd minute but the Tigers couldn't get the equalizer and Dordt earned its first conference win of the season.
-Dordt had a healthy 24-4 overall shots advantage and a 12-3 shots on goal edge.
-Dee Felts made two saves in goal for the Defenders.
-Sakuma's goal is her 7th of the season.
-Postman's goal was her 1st this year.
-LeDuc now has two assists.
-Dordt has not lost back to back games this season in building a 6-3 overall mark and the Defenders are 1-1 this year.
-Wesleyan slips to 0-2 in the GPAC and is 2-7 overall.
-Dordt will travel to Concordia on Saturday to face the Bulldogs in league play.

"The match with Dakota Wesleyan was a good bounce back for us after Saturday's loss. We made some adjustments in training and that created good opportunities," said Dordt College coach Bill Elgersma.
