The College of Saint Mary defeated Dordt 2-1



The College of Saint Mary secured a playoff spot in the GPAC post-season tournament and knocked Dordt of contention to host a tournament match with a 2-1 in in Omaha, Nebraska on Saturday afternoon, October 31.

Natalie Sakuma scored in the fourth minute off an assist by Nicole Postman for a 1-0 lead that stood to halftime.

MaryBethe Smith knocked a goal during the 47th minute to tie the game and then scored on a penalty kick in the 58th minute to earn the win.



-Dordt was outshot overall 18-14 but had a shots on goal advantage of 13-9.

-Dee Felts had seven saves for the Defenders.

-Natalie Sakuma has 18 goals this season.  That total ranks 3rd all-time for goals scored in a season behind Kalie Gaskill’s 23 and 19 goal seasons in the late 1990s.

-Dordt is 6-5 in the GPAC and 11-7 overall.

-The College of Saint Mary is 5-5-1 in the GPAC and 9-6-1 overall.

-Both Dordt and the College of Saint Mary Flames will play in the GPAC Quarterfinals that will start on Thursday, November 5.
