Concordia defeats Dordt 1-0
HOW IT HAPPENED
A goal in the 49th minute by Jeannelle Condame was enough as the no. 18 ranked team in the NAIA, Concordia Bulldogs, held off Dordt 1-0.
-Dordt held a 15-8 overall shots advantage and a 10-3 shots on goal edge.
-Dordt forced two corner kicks to two for the hosts.
-All three of Concordia’s shots on goal were in the second half.
-Dordt had five shots on goal in each half.
-Dee Felts took the loss for the Defenders in goal with two saves.
-Allison Lammers had three shots on goal as did Tori Mann. Natalie Sakuma was limited to one shot on goal.
-Concordia is now 7-2-1 overall and 1-1-1 in GPAC play. The Bulldogs were the 2014 GPAC Champion.
-Dordt is 1-2 in the league and 6-4 overall and will host Briar Cliff on Wednesday, October 7.
COACH ELGERSMA SAYS
"The women's side played well against Concordia. Much of the game was a midfield style and the winning goal was from a set piece at about 30 yards out. The wind appeared to drift and hang the ball for the lone goal," said Dordt College coach Bill Elgersma.
