Hastings scored on an 11 yard pass to cap a 67 yard drive to open the scoring but Dordt answered immediately with a scoring drive capped by a Jake Brouwer 38 yard field goal with 6:43 left in the first quarter.  The field goal came after Dordt had a touchdown taken away by a penalty and the Defenders were forced to settle for the field goal try.  The drive also featured a 68 yard run by Xavier Caffee to help set up the score.

It was the last time Dordt would score until late in the third quarter.  Meanwhile Hastings scored on drives of 67, 63 and 24 yards to finish the half.

Austin Curlee caught a five yard pass to open the scoring in the third quarter for Hastings and a 68 yard drive ended in Hastings fifth straight touchdown to take a 41-17 lead with 4:18 left in the third period.
