The Dordt Defenders came back from a 7-3 deficit to outscore Concordia 6-0 over the final four innings to win a 9-7 decision over Concordia on Saturday in Seward, Nebraska.<p>
Dordt took a 3-1 lead after two innings with a three run second frame on two hits with one error. Dordt left the bases full . Kassidy Van Voorst and Summer Jansen each had a single in the inning. <p>
Concordia answered in the bottom of the third with a six run, four hit frame that put them up 7-3. <p>
The Defenders wasted no time in bouncing back with a five run outburst in the fourth inning. Ashton Beaird had a single that scored a run and Erica White knocked in a pair with a single. A Corinne Valdix double produced a run and Summer Jansen also had a run batted in with a single. <p>
Erica White knocked in a run in the fifth inning and Concordia left runners stranded in all three of their last frames, ending the game with the bases loaded on a fly out to center field.<p>
Concordia had a 14-12 hits advantage with Van Voorst, White, Valdix and Jansen all getting two hits. White knocked in three runs and Beaird and Jansen both had two runs batted in.<p>
Amanda Malinowski got the win while pitching four innings and allowed seven runs on ten hits and walked one. Sidney Larson pitched three innings of shutout softball and allowed four hits and struck out three. <p>
Dordt is 5-15 overall and 1-1 in the GPAC while Concordia is 9-10 overall and 1-1 in the conference.<p>
