Mount Marty Invite
<p>The Dordt College men’s cross country team finished fifth in the 17 team field at the Mount Marty Invite in Yankton, South Dakota on Saturday. Dordt totaled 122 points on a day when Sioux Falls won the meet with a low of 19 points behind medalist Robert Brockmueller’s 24:49 time on the 8,000 meter course.
Dordt’s best finisher was Stephan McNamara with a 26:06 for 15th place and Nick Vander Kooi ran a 26:34 for 21st place. Sam Wensink and Ryan McNamara were 28th and 30th respectively in 26:48 and 26:53. Hunter Weinert closed the Dordt scoring with a time of 27:20 for 46th place. Trent Kischer and Ben Brockmueller ran times of 27:27 and 27:29 respectively for 49th and 51st to complete the runners that counted in the standings for Dordt.
Morningside was the top GPAC team and finished second with 76 points and Northwestern was fourth with 103 points. Dordt was running without one of its top runners this season in Nathan Jackson. 197 runners competed in the annual event.
Dordt will run at the GPAC Championships in two weeks at Mitchell, South Dakota. </p>
