The Northwestern Red Raiders beat Dordt in a contest featuring two nationally ranked volleyball teams. Northwestern pulled away late in set one to win 25-17 and then won sets two and three 25-18 and 25-15. Dordt slipped to 3-1 in the GPAC with the loss while Northwestern is now 4-0.<p>Set one featured 13 ties with the final knot coming at 14-14. Northwestern used a six point run to make it 20-14 and they won the set 25-17.<p>
Set two had the Defenders fighting from behind as Northwestern went up7-2. Three straight points got Dordt to within 7-5 and the Defenders eventually tied it 10-10 with Haley Moss getting the kill. Ties at 11-11 and 12-12 kept the Defenders within striking distance but the hosts scored four of the next five points and eventually led 20-14. Dordt got no closer than four before falling 25-18.<p>
Set three saw Northwestern lead from start to finish in taking the set 25-15.<p>
Dordt hit .074 for the match with 30 kills and 38 digs and two points on blocks. Northwestern had 34 kills and hit .264 with 33 digs and accounted for seven points on blocks and had 12 ace serves.<p>
Brooke Wolterstorff, Elizabeth Kiel and Jenna Horstman all had six kills and Haley Moss had four. Kayla Bartman had 22 assists and six digs. Meghan Krausman had a team high 14 digs.<p>
Kaitlin Floerchinger had 14 kills for the hosts and Brooke Fessler put up 26 assists. Karlie Schut had four ace serves.<p>
Dordt is 9-6 overall and will host Nebraska Wesleyan on Friday night and Midland on Saturday afternoon. Northwestern is 17-2.
