The Dordt College Defender men's golf team finished in a tie for fifth place in the Siouxland Golf Invite on Friday, September 6. The second day of the event was played at The Ridge in Sioux Center, Iowa under sunny, hot and windy conditions.
Dordt recorded a 316 to go with their first day total of 293. Madison Moss paced the Defenders with a 149 and finished in 8th place overall. Connor Rothert shot a 150 for the two days while Derek Fox and Rees Beaver were at 154 and 156 respectively.
Dordt entered two other teams in the event and they finished 12th and 16th with stroke totals of 640 and 681. Nathan Middel, golfing for Dordt B recorded Dordt's low total of 73.
Northwestern won the event with a 580 led by Ryan Kiewit's medalist performance of 136. Neil Malenke and Kyle Stanek had a 142 and 144 for second and third respectively.
Dordt's next outing is the Midland Invite on September 13.
