The Dordt College Defender men's golf team stands second after day one of the Siouxland Invite played at Landsmeer Golf Club in Orange City, Iowa. Day two of the event will be run on Friday, September 6 at The Ridge in Sioux Center, Iowa.
Dordt carded a 293 on the par-71, 6,405 yard layout, trailing the leader Northwestern by four strokes after the first day's play.
The Defenders were led by Madison Moss with a 71, putting him in a tie for fourth place overall. Derek Fox and Connor Rothert each had a 73 and Rees Beaver took a 76 in his first action of the season.
Ryan Kiewit had the low score with a 69 for Northwestern and his teammates Neil Malenke and Kyle Stanek were tied for second, a stroke under par and a stroke in front of Moss.
Dordt fielded two other teams that were in 11th and 15th respectively with a 319 and 335.
Second round play begins Friday at 10:00 at The Ridge.
