The Dordt College Defender softball team won a 5-2 decision over Nebraska Wesleyan in game one of their doubleheader in Sioux Center on Saturday, April 26.<p>Dordt got two in the first inning on a Michal Hoogland single. Neither team scored again until the fifth inning when the Prairie Wolves scored a run on one hit and an error.<p>The Defenders answered with three runs in the fifth inning. Kassidy Van Voorst and Bethany Dykstra each singled and Erica White followed with a double that scored two runs. An Ashton Beaird ground out provided a run and Dordt held on to win as Wesleyan left the bases loaded in the seventh inning for the 5-2 final.<p>Sidney Larsen was the winning pitcher with five hits allowed and walked six with three strikeouts.<p>Kassdy Van Voorst had two hits and scored a run and Bethany Dykstra had two runs scored. White knocked in two runs as did Hoogland.
