Dordt College won an 8-0, five inning decision to sweep Mount Marty in Great Plains Athletic Conference play on Wednesday night, April 2. <p>The game, played in cool and damp conditions, ended on a Bethany Dykstra single in the fifth inning for the needed eight run difference.<p>Dordt got a run in the first and then erupted for five in the second when they sent 11 batters to the plate and totaled seven hits and took advantage of two errors. Dordt also had scored a run each in the fourth and fifth innings for their sixth win of the season.<p>Ashton Beaird, Bethany Dykstra, Michal Hoogland and Jayden Smolders all had two hits as Dordt pounded out 13 hits. Erica White and Beaird both got credit for two runs batted in.<p>Samantha Dunn got the win while scattering three hits and she struck out five with no walks.<p>Dordt will host Concordia on Friday and will take a 6-18 overall mark and 2-4 GPAC record into the twinbill. Mount Marty is 1-5 in the GPAC and 3-13 overall.
